When India takes its travel ban to China, here are 10 places in the world to avoid
The US and the UK are taking their travel restrictions to China.
Illinois and Australia are among the most popular destinations for Indian expats to visit, with the US saying the ban will make it more difficult for Indian nationals to come to the US.
However, the US has issued a temporary travel ban for people from India, while China’s government has said the ban does not apply to people who are currently on the US State Department’s list of “vulnerable countries”.
China’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that it would take measures to ensure that the US “does not violate China’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence” and “the interests of its people”.
“We firmly believe that this US-China bilateral relationship is a great source of friendship and goodwill and a source of peace and tranquillity,” a statement said.
“China has made a lot of efforts to ensure a smooth and stable bilateral relationship, and it will continue to take measures so that the United States does not violate its sovereignty, political independence and economic interests.”
Indian embassy officials in London and New York were not immediately available for comment.
India and China were allies during the Cold War.
The US has not yet lifted its travel restrictions on Indians since Trump took office, and the US government said the travel restrictions will remain in place until the end of April.
It will take until May for the ban to be lifted.
Trump has said that he wants to see a trade deal between the US and India.
India has also launched a campaign against the Chinese government’s anti-corruption campaign.
