How to take the trip of a lifetime: How to avoid the travel restrictions in Connecticut
Travelers are advised to take steps to avoid being blocked from flying into or out of the state as Hurricane Matthew makes landfall in Connecticut on Tuesday.
What you need to know about Connecticut travel restrictions.
What to do if you are not allowed to travel to Connecticut:You can fly out of New York, New Jersey and New York City if you can fly into or exit the US in two or fewer days.
You can fly in and out of Florida, Florida’s Gulf Coast, and Puerto Rico.
But you can’t fly into the state, or back in.
If you can, you’ll need to get permission from a US customs officer before you can leave the US, according to the US Department of Homeland Security.
In addition, the US Federal Aviation Administration says anyone entering the US without a visa will need a special waiver.
The waiver is granted for certain specific categories of travelers, such as students, students-in-training, students and retirees.
The waiver applies to anyone with an airline ticket, but it does not extend to passengers flying on flights booked online.
If a passenger has booked a flight on a US Airways, Frontier Airlines or American Airlines website and they don’t get an invitation to a US airport to fly out, they must be accompanied by an official US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent, said DHS spokeswoman Emily McManus.
If you’re looking to travel from Florida to New York or New Jersey, you can still get through without being blocked by the travel restriction if you have a valid travel visa and you have the correct US travel documents.
However, you must still present a valid US passport and be 18 years old or older.
If your passport is expired, it is considered invalid, so you can get through even if you don’t have a visa.
A valid passport is not required to fly in or out, but there are some exceptions to this rule.
The exception is if you’ve been approved to travel by the US government.
This can only be done if you’re applying for a visa and can prove that you’re 18 or older and have not been denied a visa or deported before.
You can also get through with a travel permit, which is an official document issued by a US government agency.
You need to show you’re 21 or older with a valid passport.
You may need to provide proof of residency in the US and have a job offer to get through, but you may not have to provide your address or social security number.
A permit is not the only way to get around the restrictions.
You might have to bring along your passport and other documents with you, but that’s not a requirement, McManu said.
You must also present proof of your age, which may include a birth certificate or military ID, when you get your passport stamped.
It’s important to have your driver’s license or US military ID if you plan to use your passport to board a plane.
If there is no photo ID, your travel documents must include your Social Security number, and a copy of your passport must also include your date of birth.
In the meantime, here are some travel tips:If you want to travel in the winter, take advantage of the following:If your plane tickets or other travel documents are in order, you may be able to fly back to the states as early as Sunday or Monday.
If not, check with your airline to see if they’ll allow you to take a flight that way.
If flights are not operating on the day of the hurricane, check your itinerary and make sure you have enough time to get to and from your destination.
You should make arrangements for extra travel to the affected area and be prepared to take extra baggage with you.
