Virgin Islands travel restrictions remain in place after Hurricane Irma
WASHINGTON — Affected states and territories remain under travel restrictions for the remainder of the week after Hurricane Jose made landfall in the Caribbean on Thursday.
The National Hurricane Center said Maria was the strongest hurricane to make landfall in Florida since 1882.
The National Hurricane Centre said Maria is the strongest tropical storm to make a landfall in a U.S. state since 1881.
It has sustained winds of up to 110 mph (185 kph), with gusts of up as high as 110 mph.
