Australia’s ‘unimaginable’ luxury holiday list reveals the most expensive destinations
Australia has one of the world’s most expensive holiday destinations.
Its premier travel website, Traveler’s Insurance, has revealed that the Sunshine State has the most extravagant destinations in the world.
The site has mapped out the top 10 most expensive cities in Australia with a cost per person of $2,200.
According to the data, the average cost per head of population in Melbourne is $1,300 while Perth is $2.50 per head.
That is almost double the national average of $1.75.
But, of course, there is a huge difference in price between those cities.
“In terms of a trip to the city, Melbourne has the world class facilities to accommodate you, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes,” the website states.
If you plan to spend $1 million on a stay in the city for the whole year, the price per head drops from $2 for a one-night stay to $1 for a week-long stay.
Melbourne is the top destination in the list with an average cost of $3,800 per head per person.
Perth has the next-highest cost at $3.75 per head and Brisbane at $2 per head, the site says.
This is a trend that will be continuing with the increase in demand for luxury accommodation in Australia, with many of the country’s most prestigious hotels now offering suites and suites of their own.

In Sydney, the most affordable hotel accommodation is listed for $3 million per night.
At the other end of the spectrum, Sydney’s most popular luxury hotel accommodation has booked up to $2 million per year.
And the top five most expensive hotels in the country have a combined cost of just $2m per year, according to the website.
